Core values

We are committed to serving the Transgender Community

We provide a service which brings together Supporters, Providers, and Clients in need. Seattle Transgender Help Network is founded on our core value of providing Essential Health Care to those in transition.  We all know the many challenges transgender people undergo in the course of everyday life. Long-term Medical and Mental Health care are essential to the health, happiness and wellbeing of all gender varient people. Hormone levels, and much more need to be closely monitored. Treatment for transgender people does not have a textbook treatment plan, it varies greatly from one person to the next.

We do not limit this service to only the transgender community, nor the LGBT community, as we believe that all people deserve adequate medical and mental health care services. We are here to help those who cannot help themselves, regardless of gender or orientation. At Seattle Transgender there are no borders, boundaries, or limitations to the care of improving the Seattle Community.

Yes, it is true our focus is on the transgender community. We believe Transgender people within our community are offered very little in any organized, structured way. It is our hope that this website will provide a place in our community they can call home, or a comfort zone. We want to increase the number of places, businesses, and services which create this comfort zone where we can feel welcome and safe.  We want to create a form of unity.

This does not stop us from reaching out to the community for their needs whenever possible. The Essential Health programs are basic care programs. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to have Food, Medication, Medical & Mental Health Care.

We do not stop there, One very important part of our essential health programs is providing assistance for those in a potentially dangerous situation, Domestic Violence.

The Domestic Violence program provides many ways to care for victims. An escape plan is so important in the safe removal of someone in harms way. This program includes many areas such as: transportation, food, shelter, health care, and many other basic, essential items of care needed at the time. This program comes with the assistance of the Seattle Police Departments, Domestic Violence Unit, and NW Network for survivors of abuse.

We lobby for equal rights within the LGBT community by working closely with our senators, and legislators in Olympia. Offering support to the organizations that fight for equality ie (Equal Rights Washington, Lambda LegalNational Center for Transgender Equality) and many others, is yet another direct way we work to support equal rights.

At Seattle Transgender, we also work to support a chemical dependency program.  We work with both inpatient, as well as outpatient care for those dealing with chemical dependency. We have seen to many young citizens of the greater Seattle community which have needlessly passed-on due to the ever growing problem of Drug addiction and Alcoholism. We do not think we can save the world, however we can do the very best we can in our own community.

Our Gender Reassignment Surgery Program is the first ever GRS program that utilizes specific supporters donations for surgery. This program requires the same endorsement letters as specificed by The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) formally Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association, INC. (HBGID).

We are solely supported by donations from those who wish to build a safe and healthy Seattle for the many years to come. We do not profit from any of the funds received. We have a policy of 100% return of funds to support the community. We all work for Seattle Transgender on a voluntary basis. This allows us to provide the best care to even more members within our community, thus making every dollar count.

Seattle Transgender does not give out grants, we sponsor clients that are in need of services. This allows us to have greater control over the spending of our donations. This is one of our unique ways of doing business. With our unique way of doing business, the opportunities between Seattle Transgender and our allies are endless.  We also support Seattle Green Earth, Seattle Homeless Project, Seattle LGBT Advocate Network, and many others. One of the determining factors in our obtaining supporters, is that we offer our supporters the ability to choose which projects they wish to support. They are also better able to have a sense of where every dollar they donated is spent.

As each day passes and more fall sick, the fight to improve the health in the Seattle community falls short. We need your help to make a difference in the lives of our fellow citizens, families and children. Please make a donation today knowing every donation makes the difference within our community. Together we can build a better, stronger, and healthier Seattle for all citizens for many years to come.
